Doily Tablecloth & Doily Luminarias

I came across some adorable doily crafts while I was flipping through some old Martha Stewarts over the weekend. The doily tablecloth overlay (doilies stitched together) was from an old holiday issue but I think it could be sweet for a bridal or baby shower. The doily luminarias (paper doily glued inside white bag) could be switched up for a latin themed party by using hot pink or turquoise colored paper bags. I’m thinkin’ my Mexican Wedding Cookies would be perfect to serve!

Doily Inspired Wedding Gowns

I never really write about wedding gowns. But I came across these three and was enamored by the fabric. I didn’t really care that they happen to be wedding dresses. I’ve been eyeing crochet more and more and wondering if it’s a vintage style that’s being revived? The dress above is by Lela Rose. The fabric is gorgeous. Below are two close up shots of dresses from J.Crew. I didn’t share the zoomed out shots because the models looked really depressed and sad. The flowers aren’t crocheted by they do have a handmade doily quality. Really pretty.

I totally fell for these necklaces and headbands because they have one of my favorite things in common, doilies. So pretty for a wedding or for everyday dress up. This is luxury you can afford. My favorite is the necklace above. Can you believe it’s only $22? Check out more at treeandkimball’s shop.

I love a flower pin tucked into my bun in the springtime. A flower makes me feel so feminine and maybe a bit french. Made of silk taffeta and tulle from handlespout.com.

Crepe Paper Roses

aboutmorgan

I spotted Morgan on Martha’s show the other day making these gorgeous paper crepe flowers. Morgan is an editoral assistant at Martha Stewart so I’m sure she has quite a few amazing crafts up her sleeve. She makes these beautiful flowers by hand into brooches, hair pins, and larger versions for display. If your feeling adventurous you can view the full instructions and a how to video on marthastewart.com. Morgan also sells her beautiful flowers on her website: amblethroughbramble.com.
