Beautiful verdant landscapes are popping up all over in blogland. Photographs from California by Abby Try Again are my favorite. Greens mixed with undertones of yellow and blue is stunning and moody. I’m thinking about getting a few printed really large to hang in my bedroom? The green is so seducing and fresh. Check out Abby’s shop for purchasing and her blog for even more inspiration.

Thanks Abby for letting me share your photos.

Reading Farm in Winter Jon Olsen: Winter Photographs

I came across Jon Olsen’s work recently on the cover of Yankee magazine. The image above is part of a winter series of photographs shot in Vermont and New Hampshire. The images capture winter as a calm and uncluttered landscape. They make me want to jump in the car and head north. How can you hate winter when it’s this beautiful? Find out more about Jon and his photographs on his site: jonolsenphotography.com. Photographs can be purchased through Jon or through local galleries that represent his work.

Marine Hugonnier: Ocean Photographs

I spotted the above photo in the August issue of House Beautiful. The photo is blown up really large, simply framed, and hanging over a large bed. The twinkle of the sea and the expansiveness of the sky draws me in. The small image above doesn’t do it justice. I so want it!

The image shot by Marine Hugonnier is part of series called, Toward Tomorrow. The compilation of images are ‘the result of a trip to the Bering Strait in Alaska to photograph across the International Date Line into Siberia. Due to its geographical position, Siberia is always 24 hours ahead of Alaska. The photographs are therefore, in effect, pictures of a future moment’ How poetic.
