We are working on stripping the paint in our living room. It’s a project that will probably last into the spring. I’ve been dreaming about paint colors and furniture for months. I found this photo over at Bliss by photographer Joanna Henderson. I love the stripes on the chair, the old rug against the wood floors, and the creamy greenish gray paint color on the cabinet. Perfect for my house.

I’m so happy to share my friend Heidi’s lovely living room wallpaper. Heidi lives just down the street from me in an old house too. Her house is adorable filled with old house nooks and beautiful wallpaper. The wallpaper in her living room is my favorite. A great pattern with a little pop of color.

I have a thing for pink. I’ve been in a pink mood with v-day right around the corner. Everything I seem to post seems super girly and pink this week. I thought I would share a few of my favorite pink bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms to add to all the sweetness. Eventually, a small little nook of a room off our living room is going to become pink. Hopefully, my boyfriend won’t protest too much. My first inspiration shot for the room is above. With the holidays over we are back to the house renovation. I guess I should more accurately say, I’m back. Greg has been hard at work dealing with frozen pipes and sagging floors. I need to get my butt in gear and finish stripping the paint in our living room.

I would love our room to feel as cozy as this living room from the movie, “The Holiday“. The mix of patterns and muted hues is perfect and unfussy. We so need that ottoman! I am eyeing the bookshelves in the room below. I could so imagine them in our little side room off the living room. How I love that rug too!

I still haven’t decided on a green wall color for the den. None of the colors I’ve chosen seem right. I want a darker green but something with a little turquoise to make the color sparkle a little bit instead of just lying flat? I guess I am being such a pain about picking a color being I’m a painter. I might just have to mix my own. Here are some more dark green walls for inspiration.

I am looking for a small side chair for the den. I want the chair to have legs and small rounded arms with no sharp edges. The chair has to be comfortable enough for movie watching but still kinda feminine. I’ve look all over the place but no one seems to have the perfect shape I desire. I think my best bet might be the chair above from Lee Industries. The chair is casual and looks comfy. I would of course have to pick a different fabric. This chair maybe a winner. Second thought? This is the Den/Living Room on the second floor of the house. We only need to paint and decorate the space. We seem to spend the most amount of time in this room so it would be nice to get it fixed up before the holidays. I was pondering painting the walls a green shade and the modeling white which will be consistent throughout the house. Check out some of my green wall inspiration here. The room is kinda dark and doesn’t get much sunlight till late in the day. So many choices! You can see my ugly brown sofa in the photo below. The sofa has to stay until our money tree starts growing again next Spring! I guess its fine. Super cozy but I hate that the shape is so heavy looking.

I’ve had these images in my inspiration folder for awhile now. A couple of the photos we have seen before. I thought I would group them together here for inspiration. I love these greens they are so earthy and classic.

I snagged a few photos of some cool chairs at Room & Board while in NY over the past few days. Above are a pair of woven rope chairs by Hans Wegner.They are so nautical and New England. Unfortunately, they were a bit out of my price range at $2,785 each. The white dining chair feels very shaker with a modern twist. Available with or without arms for about $250 each.
