Entryway: Flush Mount Lights

We close on our house this Thursday. We are getting really excited! We have a lot of work to do that doesn't involve decorating. It will probably be months before I get to start picking out lighting or paint colors. I can still dream about these flush mount lights for our entryway in the meantime. I love the classic style but glamorous detailing. The house has been neglected for so many years I really want to dress the place up. Check out more lighting at: circalighting.com.

Coral Tealight

Designed by Lilach Lotan a Canadian artist working in unglazed white porcelain. Lotan creates these gorgeous coral tealights recalling the spikes, tubes, and funnels found in a coral reef. When light the tealight creates various shapes and shadows. When unlit, the piece would look perfect functioning as a piece of art on a table or bookshelf. Funnel Coral Porcelain Tealight, 8"D x 6.5"H $135 canoeonline.net.

Hints of Pink At ICFF

Swala Line

Swala Line Pink Chair, love!

Pink is my absolute favorite color. I was surprised to see favorite shade pop up in many forms at the recent ICFF show. I saw some pepto bismol pinks on chairs and lamps but I definitely saw a resurgence of magenta. A color I don't think we have seen so much of since the 80's. Love! Check out some of my finds above and below sporting my favorite luscious pigment. If you click on any image you'll be brought to my jammed packed flickr library with over 65 images from ICFF.

Swala Line

Since were talking about pink and Spain I thought I would share with you my favorite chairs from the show. Made of plastic wrapped around a plastic core. These happy seats are awesome for indoor or out. I really want a set in pink for my dining room.

I asked about wholesale (since I'm opening a store) and she said something about having an a special rep that will help me ship to the US? Honestly, I have no idea about any of that! I really do want to import from Europe; they have all the good juicy colorful stuff! I guess I'll just figure it out.

Below are feather pendent lamps also designed by Swala Line. The website is in the process of being updated but I got the feeling in the next couple months the site will be fully functioning. Check it out: swalaline.com.

luján + sicilia

I had to step into this booth because they had a pink lamp. God I can't believe what a sucker I am for pink! You have to admit that pink is a pretty seducing color. Luján + Sicilia describe their lighting as,"intensely emotional retro modern concept lighting from Spain". They tricked me! I was reacting emotionally to that pink! Check out more: lujan-sicilia.com.

ICFF 2008

I had a great time checking out my first ICFF show but damn I am exhausted. I don't know if I have shared the real reason why I was attending ICFF and the National Stationery Show this weekend? I am starting my own online store! I want the store to be highly curated and focus on home accessories that are colorful and patterned driven. I saw some great things at ICFF that were super inspiring. I've never owned my own store so I do have a lot to learn. Baby steps, right? I am so excited. Check out some of my shots from ICFF by clicking here. I will tell you more about each individual company once I get a little rest. But for now just spend some time ooogling over some major house porn.

Modern Dose

This just in new table lamps at Modern Dose. The yellow glass base (below) has to be my favorite. I am such a sucker for yellow right now. All the new lamps have nice simply shapes perfect for bedside. I am thinking about how I might incorporate the yellow base with the new purple ikat fabric I just bought into my bedroom. Maybe too funky? If I had to restrain myself I would go for any clear glass number—a classic shape that will never go out of style. Check out more new arrivals at: moderndose.com.

Sconces at Circa Lighting

"Bing Single-Arm" sconce, natural brass, $210 circalighting.com.

Every piece would be absolutely amazing in my 257 year old colonial. A few of my favorites above and below. Check out more at: circalighting.com

New at CB2

I love CB2 but I have to admit lately they have been disappointing me. Things seemed pretty blah and more for the "under 25 I'll buy this because it's cheap crowd."

So when I checked out their site last night I was surprised to find some pieces that were totally cool and would fit equally well in a big kid house as well as an apartment. I think my favorite is the Bauhaus arc floor lamp below. The lamp has a total high ticket price look but it's only $199. It comes in white as well for a more classic post-modern look. My second favorite was the Alchemy stool, a steal for $129. I love the wood seat against the industrial iron base. To check out more visit, CB2.com.

I am totally digging all the natural materials found in Roost's lighting collection. I was drawn to all curvy shapes and muted earthy colors. Prices range from $99-$690 depending on how much handwork has been done on the individual piece. You can see all of stunning their accessories available for purchase at velocityartanddesign.com.

Stray Dog Designs

I was flipping through old House & Garden's when I found this website, straydogdesigns.com. Check out their accessories, mirrors, and lighting for pieces that are infused with natural elements as well as humor. Designed by owners Bill and Jane using recycled materials (click on link for more info). The pieces reflect the personality and charm of the couple's travels through Mexico. My picks above and below.

White Chandeliers

Vintage Italian Murano Cased Glass Pendant Chandelier, $645.

I love the pale palette and metal wire swirls on these two vintage glass chandeliers from Paris Hotel Boutique. Both would be elegant in any entry way. The smaller milk glass chandelier (below) would be perfect to dress up a minimal bathroom.

Mid Century Milk Glass Pendant Chandelier, $365.
