Tool Bucket Bags

Billy Kirk "Steamer Bag" $295, billykirk.com

I found these great links via Nick the Deal Hunter. Nick talks about them being great men's bags. Maybe they are a bit masculine but I would love to own one! I have oogled worn utility bags that have hang off phone company's trucks for years. The vintage quality is totally swoon worthy. Nick found these great links via mister-bag.com a site worth checking out for more vintage bag inspiration. I think my favorite is the ticking stripe number above.

New America Collection at Kiosk

Ok one more link before I have to go and do some work. Kiosk is one of my favorite sites for interesting and eclectic objects. The site is broken up into collections of wares found in different countries. Recently they launched the American collection. Each piece represents objects the Kiosk team discovered by local crafts people and manufacturers around the country. The onion basket (above) is made of round reed and designed by the Shakers from New Hampshire. Below are more great pieces that I am trying to stop myself from buying. Someone please buy that awesome mail bag from Minnesota, brillant! Take a peek at their website: kioskkiosk.com.

Rose Barbour Jacket

I wanted to share of my new finds I scored over the weekend but my house has been dark all day. Not really the best conditions to take photos of my new wares.

For now I am eyeing this waspy cute Barbour utility jacket. I am really bad about buying jackets. I often steal them from my friends because I never like any I see. Or I am don't buy them because I'm kinda a cheap ass when it come to fashion. I like this jacket and the cute rose lining is so me. The problem is it's a gulping $400. I hate that...as soon as you find something you like you can't afford it. I know I would wear it for years to come. Maybe I will stop by the new Barbour outlet up in Kittery, Maine before I go crazy! It is pretty cute!

Scarves: Matta

The weather totally sucks today in New England. Cold, gray, and rainy. I just took a little jaunt down the street for my second latte of the day when I spotted these scarves at my favorite new clothing store, French + Italian. French + Italian is full of decadent clothing and accessories that feel simple, earthy, and classic.

Tied around a simple gray tee was my newest obsession (above). Elegant turquoise and emerald greens flowers abstractly dance around a gorgeous 100% wool scarf. A great accessory for the fall to brighten up a simple wardrobe—like my new work from home basics.

The scarf is made by a NY based company, Matta. They carry a great selection of global inspired clothing and accessories. I am smitten with their scarves. Prices range from $100-$156. I know they are really pricey! Buy one and make it your signature piece for the entire winter. Seriously you will grab this scarf every time its cold and miserable outside. Bra Shop

Bra Shop

I have been admiring this store window displays for years and never gone in. I love the weird manikins in the large bras and grandma panties—so 1950's! I have instant flashbacks of my first bra fitting by in a department store (I can't remember the name) in Waterville, Maine. Seriously ladies a well fit bra will change your life! Classic!

I took this shot on Mamaroneck Ave in Mamaroneck, NY.

Best Canvas Bag For Groceries

Hands down the best canvas bag for groceries. I have two of these in black and they have lasted me years. The bag is a big long rectangle that can easily hold boxes of cereal with room for more. Don't waste your time with all various small bags that you you can pick up for $2 at the store. Seriously do you enjoy the dance of grabbing 12 different handles as you balance your way from the car to the house? These babies can easily fit into the back of your car with no spillage or aggravation. I use to carry Bean bags but honestly the shape is off for groceries and the tan color always gets stained. $76 available in various colors at utilitycanvas.com.

J.Crew Goes to Morocco

It seems even mass-market preppy brand J.Crew has jumped on the trendy Moroccan bandwagon. No matter how much I see the trend done this Spring I honestly can't get enough. I love the color and patterning that so apparent in the architecture and culture of Morocco. I snatched up the orange dress below because truly I couldn't live without it. I told I friend,"I don't know if the dress looks so amazing on me but I am so in love with the fabric I will wear it anyway." Check out more from the catalog now in mailboxes everywhere: j.crew.com.

Cotton Ethnic Scarves

It was cold in rainy here in New York for the past couple of days. We definitely all needed to add a few extra Spring layers. It seemed like everyone in the office and on the streets was sporting some kind of ethnicy looking wrap. How about these 100% cotton Scarves and cover ups handmade in Ethiopia? I like the pretty colors and light gauzy texture. $74 each at thisisauto.com.

Madewell

Madewell is the new brand owned by the preppy icon J.Crew. A new store has opened down on on Broadway in Soho.

I checked out the new brand online were I had a rather strange experience. The clothes seems to be geared for early 20-something who like to contort themselves into ackward poses. You have to visit to site to get what I mean. After selecting an outfit you can select to watch a video. A 2-sec loop displays a young girl doing dumb poses over and over in an all over blocky pattern. Really bad. Looks like someone got a hold of video editing software for the first time and was really impressed with what they could do in just few simple steps. The clothes look fun but the website is just plain silly. Check it out here: madewell1937.com.

High-Waisted Skirts

I love high-waisted skirts for summer. They are so feminine and sexy. Adding a belt really shows off a thin waist and is a perfect solution for me because I am so curvy. Check out a cute selection of pieces available at Anthropologie. I am in love with the two skirts to the left. I am sucker for flowers and big prints. To check out more: anthropologie.com.

This past week a few new pieces came into the stores and for purchase online. The color is amazing! I think my favorite piece that I know I will will living in all Spring and Summer is the Antique fleece shawl cardigan (below). I love that a more fashionable version of everyday cozy sweatshirt. The picture doesn't do it justice. Trust me you'll wear this everywhere, it's totally perfect with shorts and jeans. To see more visit: jcrew.com.

Forever 21-Best Necklaces!

People always ask me where I get my jewelry. My secret source is: Forever 21. If you live in NY: I totally love the store in Union Square. But don't go here after work. The place will be mobbed with teen queens and NYU students. You have to hit the store early in the day otherwise be prepared to wait in a long line to check out.

Check out all the great necklaces above and below! Everything on this page is under $10 and all available on forever21.com. Let's be honest with ourselves these pieces are not heirlooms, they are cheap ass knock-offs. But totally crush-worthy and a realistic buy for those on a budget. Check out more: forever21.com.

Shopping Handbags

Are you a totally indecisive handbag shopper such as myself? You have to check out NYmag.com's Shop-A-Matic! Over a 100 bags are listed starting at $20. Easy to navigate: search by bag type, color, price, material or just "window shop" the site. I had my eye on the Burberry Warrior Bag for a mere $22,000 bag but I just don't like the color. Just kidding. I dig this tool because you really feel like the editors of Nymag.com have searched to the end of the internet to find only the best bags. Check it out here. Note: My new Rebbeca Minkoff bag made the list!

Kragh Rosenberg

Design*Sponge reported on Kragh Rosenberg's new home line for Spring 2008. I love all the purple popping up in the new collection. I have been on this weird purple kick for about year months now. I want to paint all my walls purple and then paint the modeling gloss black. But let's get back to what I was getting too before. Not only do I adore Kragh's home line but I love her women's clothing. Most of the prints you see in her home textiles line show up on her clothing for women. The shapes are floaty and bouncy and would be great on hot summer days. Check out the site here for more. Click on the "shops" link to find a store that carries Kragh's pieces near you.

Rebecca Minkhoff Dilemma

Nikki, Night Blue, $600.

I really need a new bag. I've gone back and forth on so many. I think I might have finally found the perfect one, maybe. I love these new bags by Rebecca Minkhoff. The styles are pretty much the same as past seasons but she just added gold hardware and a few new colors.

I am leaning towards the blue/purple color. But which one should I get? The Nikka or the Morning After? Urg. Is the hobo too big? Will I ever find my keys in that bucket? Am I going to hate it in a month? I need a personal shopper. Sometimes I am so bad at choosing things for myself.

Update: I ordered the Morning After bag in Night Blue. I like that that it has some outside pockets to store keys and metro cards. Nothing makes me crazier then not being able to find my keys when I get home. I'm excited!

Morning After, Night Blue, $595.

Nikki, Yellow, $600.

Morning After Mini, Evergreen, $550.

Trina Turk

From left: Belted Cass Dress, $318. Rudi Pant, $228.

I despise shopping for winter clothes. They always seem so boring, heavy and everything is in a shade of black. Tonight I was suppose to be online shopping for a new winter coat that I so desperately need. But instead I found myself oogling over Trina Turk's new Resort collection. I love her bright bold feminine prints and shapes. The resort collection is a mix of a little 60's Jackie-O with a healthy kick of Palm Beach brights. My favorites are above and below.

From left: Tropics Dress, $288. Chickee Crop Jacket, $248.
