Plaid Fabric Swap Out From The Newlywed Diaries
Posted on | October 1, 2009 | No Comments

You may know I’m a big fan of plaid blankets. I spotted Jennifer from the Newlywed Dairies just updated her bedroom with a piece of Ralph Lauren plaid fabric she had lying around the house. The plaid transformed the bedroom into a cozy space for Fall. So cute Jennifer, thanks for letting me share! See more inspiring decorating ideas on her lovely blog.

Inspired by Erevan Wallpaper Design

I spotted Pierre Frey’s Erevan wallpaper in the recent issue of Elle Decor. I fell in love with the wallpaper last fall and really wanted to use it in my guest room. The problem? We have a large heating duct running through the room that needs to be dealt with before I spend the money to put up wallpaper. Removing the heating duct is about #304 thing on our home renovation list. So I thought maybe I will paint the room a khaki color and find some antique block prints to stamp a design onto the walls. It could look cool and give the room a much needed clean up.

Vintage Floral Wallpaper in Bedrooms

All this hot weather has made all the flowers bloom here in New England. My spirits are brightened and I suddenly have so much energy. Last night Greg and I contemplated a move to Southern California. The warm weather just makes us so happy!
Maybe if I can’t move to California just yet I could cover my walls with floral wallpaper. Check out these beautiful photos by Wai Lin Tse. Don’t they just lift your spirits? I love the layering of colors and prints. Vintage at it’s best.

I’m in love with this white linen bed against a sea of blue curtains. Is that a lace bed skirt poking out the bottom?

That crazy crewel fabric I found at Zimmans had me thinking about this great kids’ room designed by Fawn Galli. The caption from domino reads, “I made the headboard and bedskirt from an Indian blanket. Kelly Greeson bought the rooster lamp from a flea market in Nice, France. “

A few of my favorite pink rooms
Posted on | February 10, 2009 | 16 Comments

I have a thing for pink. I’ve been in a pink mood with v-day right around the corner. Everything I seem to post seems super girly and pink this week. I thought I would share a few of my favorite pink bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms to add to all the sweetness. Eventually, a small little nook of a room off our living room is going to become pink. Hopefully, my boyfriend won’t protest too much. My first inspiration shot for the room is above. Let me know if you know any great pink rooms by adding a comment below. Enjoy!

A New Greek Revival Home in the Hudson Valley
Posted on | February 4, 2009 | 2 Comments

This interior comes to us via The New York Times. Designed by architect Gil Schafer the home is actually new but made to reassemble historic greek revival architecture. I fell in love with the interior paint colors, textiles, and feminine wallcoverings in the home. Just the right mix of country charm and sophiscation. The kitchen is to die for. I love white cabinets paired with butcher block and brass knobs. To view more image from the home check out: nytimes.com.
