Lauri Faggioni

I just got the new Anthropologie home catalog in the mail. To my surprise the new set looked just like Lauri Faggioni's tastemaker piece for House & Garden back in 2007. I saved the image from the old website...it's one of my absolute favorites. I remember begging to put it on our homepage. Love! So is the new Anthropologie catalog the work of Lauri? While searching for the answer I came across the blog wee wonderfuls. A reader of her blog mentioned Lauri was the production designer of the video below. Super cool. So if anyone finds out the answer let me know.

Update: So it looks like the Anthro home spread was the work of Domestic Construction via The Constant Gatherer.

I love this print from Jennifer Paganelli. I don't know what colorway is prettier? I am drawn to the version above. I am total sucker pink. I don't really want to live with the pink so I guess i would choose the blue. Buy: 14,95 EUR per meter at: volksfaden.de.

Blue Outdoor Tabletop

One last post of the day. I need to do some laundry, pick up the apartment, and start packaging for our trip to Colorado on Thursday! So two picks from Crate & Barrel, a doily-inspired charger perfect for outdoor parties. Throw down the Flower Burst tablecloth, add a few galvanized steel buckets filled with spring flowers and you've got a party! Enjoy the sunny weather!

Pottery Barn-Ethnic Color

I knew it was only time till the mass-market home accessories division went totally crazy with moroccan inspired prints. I was actually surprised how much I liked the new line from Pottery Barn. The duvets and pillows are a little to much knock-off Robshaw, but the sheets are great! The moorish tile rug is pretty and fun in a sunny yellow. The Arlington side chair in a tile fabric and Olivia Sofette are really pretty and don't feel too generic. To check out more from visit: potterybarn.com.

Martha Stewart Baking Handbook

Go out and buy this cookbook. Every recipe I have made from this cookbook has been totally amazing and over-the-top. You'll find a lot basic old-fashioned recipes like gingersnaps, cupcakes, and biscuits; but every recipe is the best version I have ever made! I do have to admit the recipes do feel a bit ridiculous at times, lots of steps, but honestly I've sucked it up kept to instructions and had amazing results! My cupcakes I made for Easter were both from this great cookbook. People are starting to think I am an amazing baker! All the credit goes to Martha! Martha Stewart Baking Handbook, $24.60, amazon.com.

Great new outdoor fabrics by the yard or on outdoor cushions at Ballard Designs. Preppy tailored prints would be prefect for outdoor cushions, pillows, and umbrellas. I love the Arden Black which has a definite Lulu DK influence. The print feels tidy and a bit glamourous. To check out more visit: ballarddesigns.com.

Harriet Maxwell Macdonald

I feel in love with Harriet Maxwell Macdonald's home back in November 2007. I just found some great shots on the house in domino's "house tour" section of their website. The warm but muted interior feels so erthera and quiet. My favorite are the grey walls seen in a sitting room (above). I am dying to paint my living room this color. The grey seems so soothing and luminous. To check out more house tours featured in domino magazine: dominomag.com.

Carrot Cupcakes

I just finished these cupcakes for easter brunch tomorrow. I had a little taste test and they are delicious! Carrot cake with orange/ginger cream cheese frosting. I am so glad I picked up the sugared carrots at Baking Supply shop. So cute! Alright, back to baking, I have to frost my vanilla/buttercream strawberry cupcakes too! I am getting tired and I promised to make buttermilk biscuits for the ham...maybe in the morning? I'll share more pictures tomorrow. Happy Easter!

Mosaic House

I popped in into Mosaic House which is pretty much next door to the Baking Supply store. This place is a big kid's candy shop. All the tiles are amazing and gorgeous! I can't wait to have a house to cover an entryway or bathroom with any of these. I took a couple shots in the shop. I was really drawn to a tile called, "fleurs"-looks like fish scales (below). Totally check out the website which is way better then my shots: mosaichse.com.

N.Y. Cake & Baking Supply

I headed downtown to pick up some supplies for my easter cupcakes this afternoon. I stopped by N.Y. Cake & Baking Supply because they always have what I need. This place is amazing, bizarre, and overall convenient in helping get everything I need for my next project in just one stop. The store has a strange tag sale feel that's makes you wonder how long the hundreds of different paper muffin cups have been hanging from their shelves.

You won't find fancy looking staff, high-end machines, or overpriced spatulas by some new chef. You'll mostly find restaurant grade tools and supplies like sheet pans, muffins tins, cake supplies, cookie cutters, pastry bags etc. On my recent visit I scored a perfect off-set spatula, a new biscuit cutter, a bunny cookie cutter, mini loaf pans, a few square cookie cutters for tea sandwiches, and about 20 over-the-top cute sugar carrots for my easter cupcakes.

They have the best edible sugar flowers to make any cake or cupcake look like a work of art. You can see some in the window shot below. The daisies are adorable on a fluffy white birthday cake. Score a dozen for around $3.99. They have a website that doesn't really do the shop justice. Check it out here: nycake.com.

Blue Sofas

Crate & Barrel, Azure Sofa, $1,899

I've noticed a trend towards darker blue tufted back sofas. I'm not crazy about the color. I love the shape but what's up with the dark blue? But I find it interesting that the almost generic "pale blue/tiffany blue" sofa is kinda exiting the scene and darker teals and navys are taking their place. I'm not really sure if I'm loving the idea...but maybe it's just not my color. Here are few I have seen on the market above and below.

My grandmother always dyed her eggs with natural vegetables dyes. The color is so outstanding and eretheral. I found instructions online at marthastewart.com.
