We eloped! After 10 wonderful years together; Greg and I tied the knot! We’re overjoyed with excitement! A snapshot from our ceremony at Abbot Hall in Marblehead. We’re standing in front of The Spirit of 76 a large oil painting by Archibald M. Willard, symbolizing the spirit of the American Revolution.

I’m very happy for you guys! In my book, you did it the right way. We did not have a wedding. 13 years on, no regrets.

PS, We did have a big backyard party 2 weeks after we tied the knot. We had so much fun without wedding pressure or costs!

My husband and I are laughing over breakfast today wondering if old house renovators are more likely to elope — because we did too. I was sure we would have a big party and get married in our garden, but it’s been three years now since we moved in, and the house is nowhere near ready. Not to mention the way every spare bit of cash goes toward repairs and improvements.
