Last Friday in 2011

We been taking it easy this week and resting from holiday travel down to New York. I received a few e-mails asking for wintry Marblehead photos. Sorry to disappoint but it’s been really mild this winter in southern New England. We saw a few snowflakes fly in late October but mostly it’s been rain with temperatures hovering in the low 40′s.
I had high hopes for some fluffy stuff this weekend but according to the current forecast we’re getting more rain. I’m not going to complain; I don’t mind the relief from the high heating bills. Maybe snow in January? Below snapshots from my sunset walk on the last Friday of 2011.

Oh Thank You , nice old rumply Yankee land. I love the paintless shingles and fishing shacks, and saltboxes and the twinkle of the town in winter.
It was 110 yesterday and may even be a bit hotter today, and the sun sets at about 8:30. Happy New year from the antipodes.

Love Old Marblehead. Beautiful little seaside town that my family is from. It looks so different than San Diego where I live! It has a certain something about it. Love your blog, Katy. I’ve been following it for a very long time now it seems. I think you would have a wonderful magazine if you thought in that direction. Thanks for the whoopie pie recipe and now the Joe Frogger recipe. You really are such an interesting girl – so many interests! Happy New Year to you, your family and “the house!” Susan In San Diego.
