Collecting wildflowers is one of my favorite summer rituals. Just before bedtime we took a long walk collecting queen anne’s lace, golden rod and pink beach peas from the roadside. My nieces created two adorable bouquets with great texture and composition, so cute! Below snapshots from our walk in Maine.

Wildflower bouquets are always so sweet and so fun to gather. I especially like the Queen Anne’s Lace.
Katy…we have a summer home in Owls Head and that is how I stumbled on your blog this spring. You are again “in town” and it is so fun to see you recording “The way life should be”.
My daughter has the same nightgown –
it’s circo from target.
As long as you’re not picking flowers each day- “disrupting the habitat” – which you’re not- think it’s alright to pick a few roadside ones especially with children.
My kinda post Katy:)
The only flower I know of is illegal to pick in most of New England is The Lady Slipper: http://www.maine.gov/doc/nrimc/mnap/about/cypripedium.htm But on maine.gov it’s not listed as illegal to pick just that it’s rare.
Careful–it’s illegal to pick wildflowers in some states.
Nightgowns. Not sure where they’re from?
I know I’m supposed to be looking at flowers—but love those dresses (or nightgowns)!
The girls look like they have had their baths and are in their nighties. So sweet.
Love this! Beautiful shots. What a sweet thing to do with the kiddos.
