I hope everyone had a great long weekend! Can we do again next weekend? The Fourth of July feels like thanksgiving in the summer to me. I cooked like a crazy person: lobster rolls, macaroni salad, pulled pork, whoopie pies, strawberry rhubarb galette

We put in our best efforts to enjoy the long weekend with of lots of strolling, napping, cocktail making and sailing. Below snapshots using the instragram app on my phone. Yes, I went a little crazy but I wanted to share my adorable New England town with all of you!

I’ve never commented on your blog before (though I’ve been reading it for years), but I want to thank you for your lovely pics of Marblehead! My mother just arrived in your town. She was crew on a sailboat from Shearwater, Nova Scotia that will be racing in the Marblehead to Halifax ocean race. Now I can picture her doing the tourist ‘thing’ in your wonderful town.

Hi Sarah! How cool! We were just checking out the race course for spectators to view: http://www.wickedlocal.com/marblehead/x1722639848/Just-the-Halifax-Marblehead-spectators-to-get-better-view-of-ocean-racers?photo=1#axzz1RFo9HPWZ Some pretty amazing boats have already started to arrive in the harbor for the race next weekend.

I used this app Steve: http://instagr.am/

But maybe that was a joke asking me if it was the hipster app? lol.

I feel like Marblehead is so patriotic all of the time. Any pictures you post around town I think.. “AMERICA”. Weird maybe.. but perhaps not with all the history and preservation there!

Sailing looks really popular out there! My husband and I just bought a beautiful 40 year old 18 foot European sailboat(a Westerly Nimrod) that we spent all weekend painting.. we’re excited to get out on the water and have fun! What kind of boat do you and Greg have? Any tips for old boat restorations or is a big house reno enough for y’all? ha.

What a great series! Love the shots from the EYC – the flagpole was donated in memory of my husband’s godmother.
