Small Rope Mirrors

Posted on | May 4, 2011 | 9 Comments

I spotted this rope mirror in the recent Ballard Designs catalog. I really like it. So cute for a small bathroom, hallway or an odd wall. It’s nautical without being over-the-top. It reminds of something John Derian would pick up at a fleamarket for his house in Provincetown.

Below a rope mirror my mom found at L.L. Bean. The round is pretty cute too! Or try to make-your-own via Nate Berkus.

They did a segment on the Nate Berkus show all about how to make a mirror like this. Looked really simple with a great result. Here is the online tutorial: http://www.thenateshow.com/tipsandtools/detail/how-to-make-a-rope-mirror

Charming! I’ve been on the look out for an interesting mirror for our powder room that’s not metallic and not wood. Something like this could be great.

My mom just e-mailed a photo of a wood mirror she was about to give away. I’m going to try Nate’s Diy idea!
    Thanks Dina for the tip!

Over the weekend my mom gave me a mirror to make my own. Now I just need to find some rope!
