Pussy Willows and Forysthia

The forsythia is just starting to pop and the daffodils can be seen blooming in the sunny spots of town. My favorite thing about spring is the pussy willows. All over New England you’ll find their branches tucked into window boxes and urns with moss or pansies. The soft gray tones and fuzzy texture steal my heart arranged in a wreath for the front door. I can’t wait till next spring when hopefully my house will be painted and will have window boxes—it will be a pussy willow extravaganza! Below snapshots from an early evening walk.

  1. The dogwoods have already dropped their blooms here in NC…I hope the lilacs bloom late in northern Maine this year as I won’t be up there til midJune. LOVE the pic of the orange door with the forsythia, Katy!
