Tufted Inspiration From Cisco Brothers

Wynette Sofa by Cisco BrothersCreateGirl posted the above sofa two weeks ago on her blog. So great, right? Love the high tufted back. I went to ABC last week in New York to check it out. I couldn’t find her sofa anywhere on the floor but I found the Diana Loveseat (below) by Cisco Brothers. Similar but too small.
After some e-mails back and forth with Cisco Brothers and ABC I found out the identity to Julieann’s find: Wynette Sofa by Cisco Brothers (not on website). So lovely. The sofa is around $5,200 depending on upholstery. Yikes! I showed Greg the sofa last night and he loved it. He honestly said to me, 5k doesn’t seem unreasonable. Have I totally warped his perception? We both love the tufting and the high back. It would be so great for my second floor den.
More pieces I spotted from Cisco Brothers on the fifth floor at ABC below. I really liked the oval shaped ottomans compared to usual rectangular shape. John Derian does a line for Cisco Brothers too. Everything was pretty gorgeous and irresistible. The wing chairs were petite and perfect proportions for my old house. I loved the little swoop on the arm of the butterfly wing chair. For more info on Cisco Brothers–they have retailers nationwide including Boston, click here.

Maybe. But I am going to search craigslist etc to see if I can find something similar that can be modified.
And I have to pay for my new chimney, liners, and roof before winter. I’ll keep saving.
It is a beauty!

Thanks Patsy! I’ve seen photos of it before. It was shot for Vogue Living, elle decor, martha stewart etc.
Bummer they didn’t show the dining room. The wallpaper is amazing.

Too bad — this one looks like the smaller version (and it looks pretty dirty), but $150 beats $5000, and you wouldn’t need that much fabric (relatively speaking) to re-cover.

Oh how I am still in love with it, even with that price tag! Being the budget friendly designer I am, I could never pay that much but I can still swoon over it. If your hubby says A-Okay can I come over and “visit” it from time to time?! Thanks for the mention!

Oh it’s stunning. I love the high back and tufts. I think the price does seem quite reasonable considering the craftsmanship and sustainability they are known for. If you are looking for a similar style from a big box store, however, you might want to look at Crate and Barrel’s ‘Azure’:

just a thought. but something about it doesn’t seem entirely in keeping with the character of your house the way the wynette does…

Hi Katy,
I was upstate in my hometown and couldn’t resist stopping by my favorite interior store ever – Hammertown (or Hammertown Barn) in Rhinebeck to see if they had something similar for you. Their pricing is really reasonable and although I missed it this year, they have a huge barn sale on Memorial Day weekend and one other weekend not sure of date however.
Anyhow, this was the one sofa they had that looked similar, tufting not as apparent, but only $2800 and 10% off that. I love all the linen fabrics they use and their casual country but amazing craftsmanship products they offer… Goodluck! I know I can’t wait to at least browse their next barn sale :)

PS – Chelsea Clinton stopped by two days ago. Aye.

Thanks Rachel for the tip. I know the store. I went to New Paltz just across the river. We should be down that way this fall. I’ll have to stop in….
This version Lee Industries is pretty gorgeous too: http://www.leeindustries.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=115047128151235

I was looking for John Derian’s new furniture and found it at Hammertown too. They have several pieces in stock between the Rhine Beck and Pine Plain stores. Joan in the Pine Plain store really knows a lot about it and gave some good pricing.

I’m about two months behind and just saw your post. Have you tried Lee Industries, http://www.leeindustries.com/ProductShowThumbs.asp?id=101149117103177074142188090140238211183003042225189245094105076191040148021085180223&pg=all&kw=&w1=&w2=&d1=&d2=. They have a lot of different sofa styles and some that look similar to the one you like. I am in New York and think you could definitely find a sofa for less than $5000 in Massachusetts or have it made for less by an upholsterer. I have one in Stamford that I can refer you to if you are interested. I even saw a nice linen on Calico Corners for $10 a yard! Depending on the size and style and if there is a skirt or not, you might need 15 yards. Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to email me!
