Shade Border: Hosta, Maidenhair Fern and Bugbane
Posted on | May 6, 2010 | 2 Comments

I’ve always loved this foundation garden featured in Martha Stewart’s Living in 2008. A great mix of color and texture available for a shade garden. I’m hoping this weekend to stop at Snug Harbor Farm in Kennebunk, Maine to pick up some shade plants for the back side of house. Snug Harbor has an excellent and unusual selection. In the photos above and below are:
Bugbane or Snakeroot (frilly stuff in back)
Maidenhair Fern
Oak-Leaf Hydrangea
Hellebore
Hosta
