Long Bench At Kitchen Table

I have hundreds of photos in my inspiration folder. I think I should start sharing them! I love this idea of using an old wood bench as additional setting in a kitchen. When I was kid we had this same exact bench but it was painted green. The image is from Swans Island creative director’s home in Rockport, Maine. Discovered via design*sponge.

My mom had a long bench made for our dining table when I was a kid. It was a more modern shape than this one, but I’ve always loved the idea!

I love this too. It frees up space too, since you don’t have to leave room for pulling out chairs. And it’s easy to squeeze in an extra person! I say do it!!

This looks so inviting. Only problem I could envision is never wanting to leave that spot! Absolutely, do it. And a resounding yes to more shots from your inspiration folder. Do share!

Love this – have a bench in my dining room that I pull up as needed. Please share more! Also, I’m a BIG fan of Swans Island – hopefully will actually be able to purchase a blanket in 2010.

we have nearly the same set up – old pine table with a long old pine bench. it is perfect for 3 kids to scramble on each morning for breakfast. we love it! however, the pillows would never last in my house – they would be on the floor in a minute!

I just discovered your blog this morning by reading Simply Seleta. I lived in Marblehead for a few years, and still go back there every summer and stay at a B&B on the Neck. Such a lovely place. I can’t wait to read more of your blog. I’ll be a regular for sure.
