Linen for Tufted Headboard, Bench, and Side Chair
Posted on | October 8, 2009 | 7 Comments

My sister gave me the remaining linen she had left from her bench and chair reupholstery projects. The chairs she found in college and finally decided to move them out my mom’s garage and get them reupholstered after 10 years. The bench was a score from a thrift store that she had restuffed and tufted. I’m pretty jealous of the bench.
I think I have enough remaining fabric to make an upholstered tufted headboard like Restoration Hardware’s version above. I have to send my measurements to an upholster for an estimate but I assume my costs will be a lot less then Restoration’s $1,700 headboard only price tag. Fyi you can find upholstered headboards for much cheaper at Ballard Designs. They just don’t carry the rectangular shape in a tufted version. Stay tuned.

Love the idea of making a linen tufted headboard. Have you noticed they have a sea green velvet one in the show Madmen? Very appealing.
