Veggie Box: September 3, 2009
Posted on | September 3, 2009 | 10 Comments

I’m back! No, I didn’t fall of the face of the blogging earth. I’ve been working on creating a new home for my growing blog. I have a lot more work to do and a ton more errors to fix. I must continue on even if the format isn’t perfect.
In other news I bought a new camera. Well, I bought two. I couldn’t decide. I wanted an slr to upgrade my canon point and shoot that took a ride in the washing machine about a month ago. I ordered a Canon EOS Rebel T1i and a Nikon D5000. The photos above and below are from my test drive of the Canon EOS Rebel T1i
.
Out of the box the camera was easy to use. The camera is the perfect size for my hand and super lightweight. My only complaint so far is that Live View is not available in automatic modes. Live View is the image you see on the screen while your trying to figure out your composition. More on the camera later. I promise to do a side by side comparsion with the Nikon. But for now take a peek at my newest veggie photos. Want to see more beautiful veggies click here.
p.s. none of these photos have been photoshopped or altered in anyway. All the photos were taken with the flash off. I love low light photos. I need a camera that can perform in the lowest of light and not be blurry or make all the grays turn into blobs.

We’ve had 000s of great shots from our Canon Rebel XT. I just wish I had the new one w/ the HD movie mode too (like your model). Wanna trade??
Also wish my radishes looked even a bit like the ones you have above. Those are from the garden co-op, right? Or else you worked magic in the side garden.

Yup, the veggies are from my farm box. I’ll take some shots of my tomatoes this afternoon with the new Nikon.

ooh la la! i’m loving the new blog design, regardless of your hiccups (i have yet to see evidence of any. . . those photos and veggies are ah-maze-ing.
also, i am no wordpress guru, by any means, i recently moved from blogger and it sounds like my transition was a comparatively easy one. but now that i see all the wordpress is capable of, i find myself wanting to take advantage of it, and i have no idea how to do that! i guess the point of typing all that was to say, your blog looks great and you are not alone.

These photos are all gorgeous, and the light is perfect! I don’t like to use flash either, it flattens everything… Your veggies are beautiful. Sometimes I don’t want to eat my produce, it’s too gorgeous…

We have had good luck with our Canon Digital, although I use a Nikon Cool Pix most of the time. Your farm box items look just like mine in the waning weeks of the season! Love your blog.
