If you live in the northern latitudes where it gets really cold outside…you have to make these! This super creative diy project comes from Margaret over at Resurrection Fern. So clever and simple! Using found doilies she covers them in a water dish overnight till it completely freezes. Seriously, it has to be really cold outside for these not to melt in the sun! Margaret where do you live? See more photos and directions on her blog.

p.s. margaret really likes to freeze all kinds of things including pinecones.

Yay! I have been hunting for a snowflake diy that isn't paper! Will hunt down doilies post haste. Thanks!

I love this idea. Did you see all the great doily crafts (including snowflakes) in the December issue of Martha Stewart (the issue with all the cookies on the cover)? So many fun ideas!

I did. She had some great ideas. I really wanted to make the doily wreath…but I am too lazy.

How fun! I live in NorCal. It will never get cold enough to do that here. But it's okay. I like our weather.
