Madeline Weinrib Sample Sale-Impulse

Update: Madeline Weinrib is having another Sample Sale Fall 2009: Click here for info.

Yesterday I went to the first ever Madeline Weinrib Sample Sale. I was hoping to score a runner and a rug for my living room. There really wasn’t that huge of selection. A lot of random large floor pillows and a few ikats. The pillows are so expensive at full price that even 1/2 off didn’t seem like that great of deal. ($600 were going for $300).

I picked up this 5×7 Amagansett rug for $399. Full price the piece would go for $595. I honestly don’t know why I bought it. I love pink..but a whole rug. It looks pretty in my living room but now nothing matches. The rug would be perfect in a nursery or little girl’s room.

p.s. I sold this rug but madeline does have the rug still available in other colors. Just not at sample sale prices.

  1. Hi Katy,

Aren't you sweet? I'm that lucky lady in San Francisco and I'm so in love with my new rug! I'm sort of in that wanting to cover everything in Ikat stage…don't worry, I'm not doing it! But, I do still love all things Ikat. If MW does another sample sale this year, I think I'm going to try to get to NY. If you're there at the same time, I definitely owe you lunch at someplace fun & trendy!

I still haven't purchased a new sofa yet because I do want to buy another larger MW rug for my petite apartment living room first. I'm considering something in one of her blues but I do love her pink rugs.

I'm just catching up on your blog. My Mom took a tumble & broke her collar bone & I had a sick kitty…all is well now & I love reading your blog. I'm sure your home is looking beautiful. You have such great taste….of course, we have the same taste across the board ;) I really appreciate all the time you spend giving us all such great ideas & sources! Thanks again & Happy New Year!
