The 2008 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse is now underway in New York. You can purchase tickets here to check out the great event. I want to reminisce a bit about last year’s Showhouse before we jumped into 2008.
My favorite room last year belong the room designed by Eve Robinson. The room was so lush, elegant, and airy. The simple palette of creams, browns, slate blues, and charteurse green accents felt clean and classic in the space. A favorite was the large slate blue curtains which help anchor the large windows in the space. A close second was the gorgeous felt wool carpet made up of large squares that were hemmed-stiched together. I felt like I was walking on clouds. Vintage House & Garden Covers & Prints

I know a lot of people out there have been missing House & Garden. Did you know Condé Nast has a store that houses incredibly vintage covers and photographs from all of their magazines? You can purchase prints from House & Garden for as little as $189. The store has hundreds of prints to choose from. Some the images and covers date back to the 1920’s. I’ve included a few of my favorites above and below. Check out the store: condenaststore.com.

Portraits is a self-published book by artist Siggi Eggersoon. The book has over 60 geometrical portraits of people. I dig the bright colors and graphic shapes. The book is still looking for a publisher so no copies are available. Check out more of Siggi’s work: vanillusaft.com.

Looks like John Robshaw is geering up to release his new Spring 2008 collection. On his website you can get a sneak peek with a new online catalog. The collection has more reds and blues then we have seen before. I am loving the layered prints in a variety of red shades in the bed above. To check out the new catalog filled with Robshaw ethnic textile porn (truly it is): johnrobshaw.com.

I was going to try to incorporate this post with the last about Nicolette but there was just too many amazing flowers to share. In the May issue of Domino, Nicolette also did the floral styling for a “In The Vase” piece using common vessels you can find around the house. Nicolette arranged some gorgeous small pieces in teacups, bottles, and bowls that you could easily create at home. To check out more visit: dominomag.com.
