I just received this image sent via camera phone. Looks as if Starbucks is going back to using their original sexy siren. The siren was the original branding for the Seattle based company but as popularity grew for the brand the sexy siren was cleaned up to appeal to broader audience. Starbucks has been struggling in recent months; there stock has tanking and they have set-up a forum to allow customers to come up with “My Starbucks Idea“. I guess the new logo might give us the idea that Starbucks maybe returning to it’s roots as a edgy coffee shop. I can’t wait to see how this sexy branding goes over!

My wife brought one of those cups home today from her morning coffee hit. I wasn't impressed. Although the brown is traditional and they're going back to the old logo, there was something instantly recognizeable about the green circle (even if the cup was only a couple of pixels wide in the picture of Britney Spears, you could still see it was a Starbucks cup). They're shooting themselves in the foot by making their cup look like every single other cheap cafeteria coffee cup. Besides, they covered up the mermaid's breasts, which were exposed in the original cup. That right there shows they have no balls.
