I love the fun color and imaginative spaces found in Sarajo Frieden’s mix-medium artwork. Living in working from her studio in Los Angeles, Frieden’s work is infused with colors and shapes influenced by “folk and decorative art, including Persian miniatures, Shaker trance drawings, Japanese ukiyo-e, and her Hungarian great aunt’s embroidery”, can be found wandering through her images. I am entranced by the absorbent color and patterning achieved through layering and mark making. Check out her site for more: sarajofrieden.com.

Update: I just found Sarajo has prints of some her collages available at Thumbtackpress.com. The above image, This Flooded World, can be purchased as a print for $34.99. I’m not sure if I will be able to resist!
